You already know Bolt and Nova. Now let's go deeper! Bolt (the amygdala) is actually the size of an almond. When he senses danger, he sends a signal to your whole body in milliseconds โ before Nova can even blink. Nova (the prefrontal cortex) is fully growing โ in fact, it won't be done growing until you're 25! That means learning regulation NOW gives your Nova a huge head start.
Module 2 โ Zones of the Forest: Body Clues
Every zone has body clues โ signals your body sends to tell you what zone you're in. Red Zone: racing heart, hot face, clenched fists. Blue Zone: heavy body, low energy, wanting to disappear. Yellow Zone: wiggly, distracted, giggling. Green Zone: calm, focused, ready. Gold Zone: peaceful, connected, grateful. The more you practice noticing your body clues, the faster Nova can help Bolt calm down.
Module 3 โ The Golden Hum: Your Toolkit
Your personal regulation toolkit includes: Balloon Breathing (4-count in, 4-count hold, 4-count out), Still Water visualization, Humming at 528Hz, and Grounding (5-4-3-2-1 senses). Try them all โ find your 2 favorites and practice them every day until they become automatic.
Module 4 โ Anchor People & Lifelines
An Anchor Person is someone who stays calm when you're in a storm. They don't try to fix you โ they just stay present. Who are your Anchor People? Name them in your journal. Your Lifeline is your personal map of trusted adults at school, at home, and in your community.
Module 5 โ Nova's Choice: Making Decisions
When Bolt is loud, we react. When Nova leads, we respond. The PAUSE technique: before reacting, take one Balloon Breath and ask "Is this a Bolt moment or an Nova moment?" Then choose. Go to the Adventure tab to practice Nova's Choice scenarios!
Module 6 โ Growing Explorer Certification
You've come so far! To earn your Growing Explorer Certificate, practice one regulation tool each day for a week, complete your Adventure Log, and write about a time you chose Nova's response over Bolt's reaction. Then collect your certificate! ๐ฟ

๐ต Blue Zone โ Bolt is very quiet and heavy. Body clues: slow, tired, want to hide, low energy.
โ Try: Self-hug for 10 seconds โ Hum a tune โ Think of one Anchor Person. You are not alone in this forest.
๐ก Yellow Zone โ Bolt is wiggly and excited. Body clues: bouncy, distracted, silly, fast talker.
โ Try: 5 big stretches โ 4-4-4 breathing โ Press your feet into the floor. Ground yourself before Nova can think clearly.
๐ข Green Zone โ Nova has his goggles on! Body clues: calm, focused, steady heartbeat, ready to learn.
โ Keep it going: One Balloon Breath to stay here. Notice this feeling so you can find it again.
โจ Gold Zone โ The Golden Hum is fully glowing. You feel peaceful, connected, and grateful.
โ Soak it in: This is your superpower state. What helped you get here? Remember it for next time.

Scenario 2: The Hard Test
You see the test and your mind goes blank. Bolt is barking loud. Nova can't think. What helps?

Because this portal collects no PII, sets no tracking cookies, and requires no account creation, it operates in full compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Schools authorize access on behalf of parents for educational purposes only, consistent with FTC guidance on the school consent exception (16 C.F.R. §312.5(b)(1)).
FERPA Compliance (20 U.S.C. §1232g): This portal does not access, maintain, or store education records as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). No student data is transmitted to or held by Project Your Life Matters Inc. Any survey responses voluntarily completed by users remain on the local device and are not transmitted externally. Parent and student rights under FERPA are fully protected.
Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA): Project Your Life Matters Inc. does not sell, share, or process personal data for targeted advertising.
